Abstract Gold Waves

FAQ&Studio policies

FAQ & Studio Policies Where are you located? I tattoo at Gnosis Tattoo in Houston, Texas. Studio details and appointment information will be provided once your booking request has been approved. What styles do you specialize in? My signature work combines porcelain and Kintsugi-inspired elements with Pokémon, creatures, anime, ornamental work, Japanese waves, florals, cobalt-blue patterning, and gold repair-seam aesthetics. I also take on black and grey realism, semi-realism, anime, manga, comic and pop-culture tattoos, realistic and semi-realistic compositions, pin-up character pieces, surreal concepts, and larger-scale projects. Every project is reviewed individually to make sure it is a good fit for my style, schedule, and the body placement you want. How do I book? You can submit an inquiry on here or dm thru instagram. Please include your idea, placement, approximate size, color or black-and-grey preference, reference images, budget range, and preferred timeframe. For custom pieces, larger projects, cover-ups, realism, detailed anime/comic work, or multi-session tattoos, a consultation is strongly recommended before booking. After I review your request, I’ll confirm whether the project is a good fit, discuss the best size and placement, quote the project or recommend a day session, then explain the deposit and scheduling process. Do you accept walk-ins? Most work is by appointment so I can give each project proper planning and design time. Occasionally, smaller flash designs or last-minute availability may be posted on Instagram. Follow my page for announcements. What are your rates? Pricing depends on placement, size, color, detail, skin condition, and overall complexity. Smaller tattoos: Priced individually or at $180–$200 per hour Day sessions: Typically $1,300–$1,600 Day-session length: Approximately 7–9 hours of tattoo time, with breaks as needed Large-scale or multi-session work: Quoted individually based on scope and required sessions A final quote is given after the project has been reviewed. Please be realistic about budget when submitting your request so I can recommend an approach that fits your idea. Why do some tattoos need to be larger? A tattoo needs enough room for its details to remain clear as it heals and ages. Fine lines, tiny facial features, small text, dense shading, gold seams, porcelain patterns, waves, florals, and intricate character details can blur together or lose readability if forced into too small of a space. For detailed concepts, I may recommend: A larger size A different placement Simplifying certain details Splitting the concept into multiple sessions or areas This is not to upsell you—it is to make sure the tattoo looks good long-term, not only on the day it is finished. I will always explain my recommendation and work with you to find the strongest version of the idea. What is the deposit policy? A minimum $150 non-refundable design deposit is required to begin the design process and secure an appointment. For larger, highly detailed, or multi-session projects, a deposit of up to $300 may be required. Deposits are non-refundable because they reserve your appointment time and cover time spent communicating, planning, researching, and designing your tattoo. Your deposit is applied toward the final cost of your tattoo; it is not an extra charge. A deposit does not mean a design is fully complete immediately. Custom designs are prepared closer to the appointment date to account for final placement, body flow, size, and any agreed changes. Can I see the design before my appointment? For custom work, designs are generally shown at your appointment or during a scheduled design review. This allows me to make final adjustments based on placement and body flow. Reasonable changes discussed during the consultation are included. Major concept changes, completely new subjects, or changes requested after design work has begun may require additional design time, a new deposit, or a new appointment date. What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy? Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. With 48 or more hours’ notice, your deposit may be transferred one time to a new date, based on availability. Cancellations, reschedules, or no-shows with less than 48 hours’ notice result in loss of the deposit. Repeated rescheduling, missed appointments, or last-minute cancellations may require a new deposit before rebooking. Arriving more than 30 minutes late without communication may be treated as a missed appointment. Genuine emergencies and illness will be handled reasonably when you communicate as soon as possible. What should I do before my appointment? Please arrive rested, hydrated, and having eaten a solid meal. Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the tattoo area. Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment. Do not arrive under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If you are sick, have a fever, have a contagious illness, or have an active skin issue near the tattoo area, please contact me as soon as possible so we can discuss rescheduling. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. You must be 18 or older to receive a tattoo. Can I bring a guest? Guests are subject to studio policy and space availability. Please ask before bringing someone. For longer appointments, it is usually best to come alone or bring only one quiet guest if the studio allows it. Do you tattoo over scars or cover-ups? Possibly. Scar tissue and cover-ups must be reviewed case by case. Please include clear photos in your booking request and share how old the scar or existing tattoo is. I may request an in-person consultation before committing to the project. Do you offer touch-ups? Touch-ups are evaluated case by case. Healing, placement, aftercare, skin type, sun exposure, and client care all affect how a tattoo settles. Please send clear, well-lit healed photos after the tattoo has fully healed, typically around 4–8 weeks. Touch-up eligibility, timing, and pricing will be discussed after I review the healed result. How do I prepare my reference images? References are helpful for communicating mood, subject matter, colors, placement, and the elements you like. Please do not expect an exact copy of another artist’s tattoo or artwork. I use references to create an original design that fits your body and works within my style. The strongest references show the idea clearly while leaving room for creative interpretation. Aftercare Aftercare instructions will be provided at the appointment. Following aftercare is your responsibility and plays a major role in healing, color retention, and the final result. If you have concerns during healing, contact me with clear photos and a description of what you are noticing. For medical concerns such as signs of infection or an allergic reaction, seek advice from a qualified medical professional.
